Starlightregistry.com Terms and Conditions of Use (Terms)
i. Definitions: A host is a person/entity using StarlighRegistry.com/Starlightregistry.co.uk (hereafter called SR) to create a registry and use other benefits of the site. A guest is a person/entity using SR to provide/contribute a gift to a host by way of a cash deposit to a listed registry. A user of SR includes both account holders (hosts) and non-account holders (guests) visiting the site. A user webpage includes all the materials on the webpage and their content, including their registry. A wedding, and the term getting married, refers to any wedding, nuptial event, civil union, or domestic partnership agreement. The terms Bride and Groom do not denote a particular sex.
ii.User's Obligations: Any materials and their content posted by guests or hosts on an account holder’s individual SR webpage, including, but not limited to photos, words, and information, must be posted by a user and cannot be: (i) illegal; (ii) advertising, viruses, or spam; (iii) violate any intellectual property rights of any person/entity/law/statute; (iv) defamatory, hostile, harmful, or offensive; (iv) disclose confidential information owned by someone other than themselves. When users post/submit information to SR, they do so at their own risk and grant SR the right to publish this information on SR’s website. Any information regarding the wedding event is to be accurate and truthful at all times and if this information changes in any way, the Host must change the information on their own SR webpage within 48 hours. If account holders’ personal information changes, they are responsible for contacting SR directly in a timely manner.
iii. Cancellation of Event: Should the wedding/union be cancelled, the host must promptly close the wedding registry and withdraw any money held in and credited to the host’s account at the time with respect to the registry. The Host is solely responsible for any claims of donors, contributors, or other users with regards to distribution or refunds (if necessary) of money in a timely manner.
iv. Accounts: Users must notify SR of any perceived errors, inconsistencies, or discrepancies in account statements or contribution deposit receipts. An account is defined as “inactive” if there are no monetary transactions for a consecutive period of 2 years. If an “inactive” account contains money, SR will use all of its endeavours to attempt to contact the account’s owners. If SR is unable to locate or contact the owners, then the money shall be treated as unclaimed property and shall be handed over to the applicable revenue authority and subject to any Unclaimed Property Statutes. Under most Unclaimed Property Laws, money unclaimed after 3 years shall be handed over to the appropriate department of revenue. SR levies a 50% holding fee on all funds held for over 2 years and 95% holding fee on funds held for over 2.5 years.
v. Rights of SR: SR has the right to remove any materials on SR website generated by users who breach these Terms. SR may at any time publish (or not publish), reproduce, alter, or remove materials on SR personal webpages in accordance with SR’s Privacy Policy. SR may take the site down for maintenance and terminate a user’s use of the site with 10 days prior notice. Use of the internet is at the user’s own risk and SR is not liable for damage to electronic equipment or communication lines resulting from viruses or other internet complications that may develop while using SR on the web.
vi. Fees: Any fees charged by SR are displayed under “FAQ/Help” section. Each user must agree to pay these fees as displayed on the relevant screen of the website prior to use of SR. In the event of an inactive account, SR will notify the users of any fees levied by SR. SR is not liable for variation in transaction fees, currency conversions, or exchange rates. There are two types of fees, for contributions and for withdrawals.
SR reserves the right to change these Terms. These Terms apply to any person/user of Starlightregistry.com/Starlightregistry.co.uk. If you do not agree to these Terms then you are not permitted to use SR Website.
Privacy Policy
Why we collect Personal information: Starlight registry collects personal information only to facilitate our services. These include, but are not limited to:
providing you with information you request from us, ensuring you are satisfied with your service, and keeping you informed regarding activity in your account;
Fulfilling requirements for transactions with banks, other financial institutions and credit card companies;
Keeping you informed about special deals, current and new features, changes to the site; and offerings from third parties
Use of Personal Information: We may log what pages of our site you visit for statistics purposes only to advance our site's usability and services. Personal information such as name, mailing address, email, account, or phone number will only be disclosed if you have consented to that disclosure or if required by law. We use personal information to prevent fraudulent transaction, transfer funds to hosts, and to ensure that clients use the site for its intended purposes and not illegal activity. We may need to provide your personal information to third parties to fulfill our services to you. We make every reasonable effort to prevent third parties from using your personal information beyond the purpose for which it was supplied by us.
Protection of Personal Information: We take protecting your personal information seriously. All employees are bound by contract not to disclose users' personal information, and we allow only authorized personnel access to personal information. We also do not store credit card or bank details in our database. However, since no transactions on the internet are 100% secure, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access to submitted information will not occur in the transaction process across the web or once in our possession. Account holders are responsible for keeping their username and password safe at all times. Starlight Registry will not give out new usernames and passwords over the phone or in the mail.
Receiving Emails & Opt-Out: Since we are an online company we like to keep in touch with our clients through email communications. However, you can opt-out of receiving our emails by simply accessing and changing your user preferences on your Admin Control Panel.
Starlight Registry reserves the right to change its Privacy Policy at any time.
Terms and Conditions of Starlight Registry Partnership Program
i. Definitions: A host is a person/entity using StarlighRegistry.com/Starlightregistry.co.uk (hereafter called SR) to create a registry and use other benefits of the site. A guest is a person/entity using SR to provide/contribute a gift to a host by way of a cash deposit to a listed registry. A partner is an individual or company who enters into the Starlight Registry Referral Program (SRRP). Partners entering into SRPP only receive monetary benefits if they successfully refer Hosts to SR. Partners gain no monetary benefit from referring guests. A successful referral is a referral where a host registers with SR and uses the services of SR. A partner is an individual who has signed up for the SRRP.
ii. Relationship: Partners who successfully refer a host receive a percentage of the total money made by Starlight Registry from that host's account. This percentage varies from 15% to 30% of Starlight Registry's profit from a host's wedding. Precise percentage breakdown can be found by contacting starlight registry directly. Only if a partner agrees to these percentage breakdowns should they enter into the referral program. Partners only get the credit of a referral if hosts enter the partner's referral code upon signing up for the service, regardless of whether the partner referred the host. Payment to partners will be sent within two weeks of hosts withdrawing all of their funds. The percentage of total funds partners receive can vary without giving prior notice to partners. SR reserves the right to discontinue a damaging, disrespectful, or harmful relationship with a partner at any time without prior notice.
iii. Cancellation of Event: If a wedding/union is cancelled, partners do not receive any monetary compensation for their referral because Hosts become solely responsible to deal with the claims of any donors, contributors, or other users with regards to distribution or refunds (if necessary) of money.
SR reserves the right to change these Terms. These Terms bind any partner entering into the Starlightregistry.com/Starlightregistry.co.uk referral program. If you do not agree to being legally bound by these Terms then you are not permitted to enter into our referral program.
